In 1974, the Kindness Club – Ontario Region, under the directorship of J. Cameron Watson, began delivering a message of Kindness and Empathy for all Life, in our Values through Humane Education Program. The original curriculum was developed by Nancy Montgomery, who with her dog Buddy, began teaching in the elementary schools. Three years later she was joined by Carolyn Dutru and Misty and the program began expanding. These lessons help to develop non-violent attitudes, respect and humane treatment for all living creatures, as well as teaching the responsibilities of being a pet owner.
Cameron receives the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of Confederation.
