Kindergarten: To reduce incidence of fear or injury to children and animals. Understanding pets and instilling feelings of love and respect.

Grades 1 & 2: Awareness of animals in child's neighbourhood. Care of pets and free creatures.

Grades 3 & 4: Developing empathy through a comparison of pupils and pets. Wise choice of a pet.

Grades 5 & 6: Extension of development of empathy to include all creatures. Their needs - our responsibility.

Grades 7 & 8: Awareness of pet problems in home and community. How each person can help.
